AC Installation & Replacement

Right-sized, properly commissioned cooling systems — installed in a day by our own employees, never subcontractors.

AC Installation & Replacement

A new air conditioner is only as good as its installation. We start with a Manual J load calculation — not a guess based on square footage — so you get a system sized for your actual home, not your neighbor's. Installation includes new pad and line set as needed, a full commissioning with measured refrigerant charge and airflow, and city permit and inspection handled by us. Estimates are free, in writing, and good for 30 days, with good-better-best options at every budget.

What’s included

  • Free in-home estimate with a real load calculation, not a square-footage guess
  • Good-better-best equipment options in writing, valid 30 days
  • Installed by Cedar Peak employees — we don't subcontract
  • Permit, inspection, and old-equipment haul-away included
  • 10-year parts warranty on qualifying systems, registered for you

Common questions

How long does an AC installation take?

A straight replacement is almost always done in one working day — we arrive around 8am and you have cold air by dinner. Jobs that add ductwork or relocate equipment can take a second day, and we'll tell you that before you sign.

What size air conditioner do I need?

It depends on your home's insulation, windows, orientation, and duct layout — which is why we run a Manual J load calculation on every estimate. Oversized units short-cycle and leave the house humid; undersized ones never catch up on 100° days. Sizing right is most of the battle.

Should I replace my furnace at the same time?

If your furnace is over 12 years old, replacing both at once usually saves money — shared labor, matched airflow, and a single warranty clock. If your furnace is newer, we'll happily pair a new AC to it. We quote it both ways so you can compare.

What customers say

Furnace died at 9:30 on a Tuesday night in January — 12° outside. Called the emergency line expecting voicemail and got a real dispatcher. Marcus was in our driveway by 10:15 and had a new ignitor in by 11. He even set space heaters up for the kids' rooms while the house came back up to temp. Cannot say enough good things.

AC gave out during the July heat wave when it was 104°. Every other company quoted us 'sometime next week.' Cedar Peak had a tech out the same afternoon — bad capacitor, fixed in 40 minutes, and the bill matched the quote to the penny. This is why we've used them since the 90s.

Got three bids for a heat pump conversion in our Meridian house. Cedar Peak was the only one who measured rooms and checked the ducts instead of eyeballing it from the driveway. Install crew was their own employees, done in a day and a half, and our January bill dropped by about a third. The 'on my way' text with the tech's photo was a nice touch.
